Tasting Notes

Mature, toasty flavours, both sweet and dry, with warm notes of grain and frangipane along with toasted almonds and malt, mocha and light tobacco. Notes of ripe fruits follow: pear, candied citrus, plum, nectarine and white peach. On the palate, the construction is precise and the substance is velvet. Older reserve wines yields these most loved floral aromas and subtle biscuit whispers.

Moet & chandon remains to be the largest House within the region- considerably larger than any of its competitors. Whatever you may think of its Non Vintage, the Vintages are consistently of a very high quality and offer what we believe to be superb value. The current 2004 is what people call a drinking wine- that means it isn't too acidic (which is often what puts people off Champagne) and has plenty of fruit flavours. In the office we think this is a cracker.Vintage Champagne means quite simply all the grapes must come from the year stated on the label - rather than Non vintage which is mostly a blend of a number of different grapes from differing years.
